Evidently, all the rage right now is toques! Toques are appearing at every fashion week, (seen at NYFW, Toronto Fashion Week) on fashion magazines editorial sections, and on street style bloggers alike.
Why is this classic hat so popular? It is one of the best winter add ons when it is freezing cold out, and it is appearing to be very stylish. It can be seen as a ‘hipster, yuppie’ style, but it has been seen on some of fashion’s most prominent, such as Editors for Elle. Toques are a great Canadian staple, and these photos prove they are as versatile as they are practical. This hat is seen on the slopes, and is now seen off of them, there are many different kinds of toques to sport, some with pom poms, some pulled back for a slouchier look, and some with strings on them. The great thing about a toque is, it can work as your pop of color in a wardrobe, when you are wearing all black, pair a neon toque and you’re good to go. Any color will do, and a neutral based toque is as versatile as the winter days get longer and colder. Will you be inspired to sport one?
