Lately I feel like everywhere I go, it’s all about Business Casual. So, how do you dress for business casual when you are uncertain about what’s appropriate or not?
Business casual is described as the informal version of business professional attire. So basically, you have the opportunity to mix traditional work wear pieces with your everyday clothing items. (Such as weekend wear.)
Depending on your work environment, you should be able to judge what you deem appropriate enough. I have had many customers come into the clothing store I work at and ask me to help find them some versatile appropriate blouses to incorporate into their ‘casual Friday’ routine ensembles.
Regardless of where you work, you should still look put together and professional, no matter what your customized dress code may be. I think closed toed shoes are a must for the workplace, and with such a variety of various shoes, you shouldn’t have a problem with finding a cute pair for your feet. Try a pair of flats when your feet get tired from strutting in heels all day, or grab a pair of white kitten heels and you will find yourself a versatile enough pair to last you all season long.
Mix your wardrobe up with a pair of jeans in the mix, but make sure they are dark denim, either a straight leg or boot cut fit, and are not distressed. Make sure your blouses are wrinkle free (try steaming them,) and a loose enough fit so they are comfortable. Always wear a camisole underneath your blouse if it is sheer, we don’t want the boss to get mad.
Below are a few of my favorite business casual looks, have a great work week everyone!
A few of my favorite looks, the sleeveless button-up blouse is all the rage right now, and it is perfect for the summer as it can be paired with a simple light weight cardigan that is appropriate enough for the office and cool enough for your after work activities.
Shorts are perfect for the summer season, but make sure they don’t cut too short as you still want to be inappropriate.
