Wow. Loved Tommy Hilfiger’s rendition of the great outdoors with his chilling fall/winter 2014 collection. The prints and colours perfectly set the mood for his mountain backdrop. How refreshing to have a designer step outside of his comfort zone and create the perfect vibe with muted tones to match the natural outdoors.

Gorgeous knits coming back for another season? Count me in.
“I’m mad for plaid,” Tommy Hilfiger grins backstage moments after showing a check-tastic autumn/winter 2014 collection, entitled American Explorer. – Fashion Telegraph
With the catwalk engulfed in a fluffy white layer of snow, lush fir trees and a wooden ski chalet, Hilfiger set the tone just right.
Tommy’s inspiration came from the great outdoors with the classic American adventurer who likes to ski, snowboard, hike, camp and ultimately explore..
Glad plaid is coming back for another season because honestly Vancouverites just can’t get enough.
With Hilfiger’s usual sleek lines and straight cuts, it’s nice to see him exploring outside of his boundaries. After all, isn’t that what being adventurous is all about?
Covered in multi coloured knits, plaids & tartan prints Hilfigers line ‘American Explorer’ transcends casual elegance with a flair for muted trends. Shearling parkas, bomber jackets were paired with turtle neck sweaters – another resurgence of a trend, and raw denim with suede mini skirts. For the footwear, Hilfiger paired cut-off cowboy boots, Alpine clogs and wedge walking boots.
With a sense of practicality, and versatility this line showed true innovation. The collection inspired me to think outside of the box when dressing, with an ode to ski resorts, natural hues and even workwear appropriate pieces.
