I am obsessed with basics as of late – and I believe a good basic striped tee is one of the closet essentials, not only can this particular staple be worn from season to season, but it really doesn’t go out of style. I think its important to go through ones closet every now and then, decipher what can be tossed (or if you’re like me and you need to keep everything, then maybe find a space where you can keep your unwanted but cannot be thrown away items,) and really take into account what you will actually wear.
I have felt myself gravitate towards streamlined silhouettes, basic colours like black, white, grey, navy and easier ensembles. I don’t know if its because it seems so much more sensible with my lifestyle or if I’m just growing up, but I feel like its time to get rid of the bright hues, flashy prints (unless if they are proven to work in your wardrobe) and slip into something a bit more versatile.
How do you clean your closet, do you try and make sense of every piece or do you toss it all away without a hint of remorse?

I feel totally the same way about stripes lately. I was never a huge fan before but I just bought a couple of pieces because I've been loving a Breton stripe. They're so classic and easy to wear!
