Like my previous post on how to layer in the winter without looking too frumpy, I wanted to go a bit more into detail with some good winter essentials, pieces that can go from season to season without an over-the-top focus on trends. I think its important to follow trends to stay in the loop and show that you pay attention to whats hot and in style, but to adapt to the trends as you see fit based on your personality and style. If you know stripes are in, than opt for a basic tee that you know you can wear over and over again, it saves your wallet and makes you appear a bit more authentic when styling yourself for the multiple seasons throughout the year.
I wanted to elaborate that you can spend more money on select pieces that will really become an investment so thats why I included some pricier items such as Stuart Weitzman boots and a Michael Kors bag. To showcase that you are with the trends of the season, opt for one or two that are your favourites (don’t change your style just because the media wants you to buy every hot latest style) and rock them in a few outfits to really get your money’s worth. I chose a streamlined striped tee, one that’s great for winter because of its long-sleeved style but can also adapt for spring too. To pair this striped number, I chose a leather pair of leggings, which lets be honest, will come in handy time and time again.
I found a fabulous website called Apparel Candy (it literally is candy for your eyes!) for all of your winter essentials, they offer great prices and even sell wholesale clothing! (In the words of Macklemore, what, what, what, what…)
So, not only does this online resource offer wholesale clothing but they also provide wholesale jewelry too! I know, what a steal right?
Check out Daniel Wellington’s website here and with your purchase, you can get a 15% discount if you use the code ‘Holiday_girlinbetsey’ on all DW products via their website www.danielwellington.com (It’s a perfect gift for your loved ones, and even makes a classy stocking stuffers because of the chic box it comes in!)
Reminder: Free worldwide shipping
If you purchase an extra strap for your watch, you can also get gift wrapping too, makes for the perfect holiday gift!
To finish off this polished look, add a camel coat that ties up in case you want to wear it open or closed, some over-the-knee leather boots, a blanket scarf from Aritzia that you will never want to take off and of course a beautiful navy and gold embossed fedora. For miminal jewelry, add a gorgeous Daniel Wellington watch for a simple statement.
