I wanted to write a post that describes how to take bright photos that are professional looking because I have been getting comments on my photography as of late. Thank you for the wonderful compliments 🙂 Most of my photos are taken in natural lighting with avoiding direct sunlight as I have found that posing directing in front of the sunshine makes your photos appear too bright and white, especially in the face.
Try to find a spot that supplies some subtle shade with a nice natural light illuminating in the distance. Opt for a nice forest but be careful of the leaves from the trees as they tend to provide unwanted shadows.
I don’t use professional gear in terms of taking my photos, just a camera and the natural environment are all you need if you’re starting out. With that said, I like to take photos during ‘golden-hour’ which is between 2-4 pm, and in some cases this time can change with the varied regions you are located in. For all you Vancouver readers/bloggers out there, golden-hour appears to be around 3-3:30 for best results.
