Since the weather is warming up and the beaches are calling my name, I wanted to share a few tips with you on how I get my skin ready for the summer time. Even if you’re not ready for bikini season, it’s still getting warm enough to start wearing dresses that entail baring more skin than usual, so it’s important to know how to get that sun-kissed golden glow and soft, smooth legs.
Steps I take to get my skin ready for the summer:
1. Use the right products to unclog your pores which proves a major way to give your skin some TLC. Here are a few tools that will help you unclog your pores: Clarisonic exfoliating brushes, face masks, sugar scrub (a fun little DIY you can try at home; try mixing brown sugar and olive oil together for a smooth and exfoliating experience.)
2. Moisturize your feet. An easy and reliable means of moisturizing your feet after the long, cold winter is to apply a lightweight foot lotion to soften the skin. If you feel you need more, try soaking your feet in Epsom salts for about 10 minutes. Afterwards, rub your feet with a scrub, put lotion on them and then cover with socks for maximum moisturizing.
3. Remove the hair from your legs. I don’t know about you, but I don’t particularly enjoy the tedious task of shaving my legs. This is why I think its more of an investment to wax them. I used Nair Cire Devine Moroccan Argan Oil Wax for getting rid of that pesky hair.
A little bit about Nare Cire Devine Moroccan Argan Oil Wax: This product is quick and easy to use, and reduces the uncomfortable sensation associated with waxing. Nair Cire Devine is a microwavable wax that gets rid of your body hair without the tears. All you do is warm up the wax for about 1 minute and 45 seconds, and dip the wooden spatula provided to the bottom of the tub in the liquid wax. Make sure the tub is placed off centre on the revolving plate in your microwave. After you have made sure the wax isn’t too hot for use, place the knob at the top of the area to be waxed and, in the direction of the hair growth, spread a layer of wax over your skin, that is thin through the middle and thicker on the ends. **End the layer of wax with a small roll for easier removal. Let the wax layer dry, remove it when it is no longer sticky and so the small roll can be lifted seamlessly.
Finish the hair removal process by dabbing your skin with the towelette provided. Slight redness is normal after hair removal but will naturally disappear after a few hours (Disclaimer: my legs were a bit red after use, but indeed got better as a few hours went by. Avoid any sun exposure during the 24 hours following hair removal to avoid unwanted reactions.
For maximum results, prepare your skin for hair removal the day before by gently exfoliating the area to be waxed for an effortless hair removal experience.
New Nair Cire Divine Moroccan Argan Oil Wax’s unique ‘Bye-Bye Ouch’ formulation adheres perfectly to the hair, and less to the skin reducing the uncomfortable sensation (discomfort) associated with waxing. Learn more at: http://naircare.ca
