So, have I mentioned how much I am loving the 70s trend for fall yet? If not, well you’re about to see a surge of 70s look here on Girl in Betsey. I’m also a huge fan of the fact that florals are in for fall too, it’s so nice to know we don’t have to hangup all of our summer frocks right? Can we talk about this top? It’s literally the 70s in one piece, first off you’ve got the bell sleeves, I love the way these sleeves are in particular because it’s not too overwhelming as it’s more subtle than others. Next, you have florals, I think to avoid looking like a grandma (sorry, I had to say it) you should stick with a smaller print of florals opposed to bigger, when I was trying these tops on in the store, I found a piece that I loved for the colour combination but wasn’t crazy about the size of the bloom – so just remember, the bigger, the grannier. (Again, sorry, this is just my opinion!) I’m also crazy about the neckline, the cut out collar is very chic and very right now, it’s not too much skin showing and the back of the shirt is cute too with the cut out and the tiny buttons. I’m not going to lie, I don’t think this is going to be the only floral frock I pick up for fall, I can’t wait to get my hands on some flared denim too. If you’re like me and work in an office and can’t exactly walk in looking like you’ve just stepped out of the Austin Powers franchise, than pair a 70s style piece with some modern day picks like the leather jacket I have on, or a pair of ripped denim. What are your thoughts on this year’s fall 70s trend?
