I’ve been in kind of a wardrobe rut lately, do you blame me for the cold weather and constant rain we’ve been having? That’s why I thought it would be a great time to share some tips I’ve recently come across for how to get out said wardrobe rut. Even in the winter, it’s nice to spice things up and even use pieces you may already have in your closet. Read on to find out how to get out of a wardrobe rut.

EXPERIMENT WITH COLOUR
I’m hardly one to talk because I do typically opt for neutrals (and lots of blacks) but I recently picked up this emerald green top that I am just loving. I think it’s okay to pair with black jeans and black heels or booties when you have a colour on top. During the winter, it’s always nice to play with jewel tones.
SET UP OUTFITS
I love to do this, especially before I have to shoot on the weekends. I recently went through my wardrobe and found so many pieces I had forgotten about. All my clothes were haphazardly strewn across the floor. So, I already had pieces at my disposal to create looks with. I like to do this on rainy days too because it makes the weather more bearable and is more fun to play with when you have to stay inside. You never know what kind of combinations you will make.
LOOK FOR INSPIRATION
When I’m in a wardrobe rut, I typically go on Pinterest and look at my seasonal boards. There’s usually something I’ve pinned that I forgot about. Of course, there’s scrolling through your homepage on Pinterest. But be careful because you can tend to get lost in the rabbit hole of the internet. I like to give myself a time block this task so I’m not wasting too much time on one thing.
GRAB YOUR ACCESSORIES
Too many times have I gravitated towards the same accessories. Lately though, I’ve been picking up necklaces I forgot I had and I’m really loving layering pieces too ATM. Seriously love a good ol’ classic white tee paired with jeans and some golden necklaces, so effortlessly chic. Switch up your shoes for the day and you’ll see how much it will transform your look.
I hope these tips helped you, I would love to know some of yours.

Great look, love the rich jewel top and would be easy to layer with a shrug or cardi.

I get the same way in winter. It’s all about keeping warm and that means usually grabbing the same sweaters day in and day out. I love your beautiful blouse and the gorgeous sleeve detailing!
