VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA- Vancouver Fashion Week recognizes the importance of giving back to the community and the city that supports it. We are proud to announce Beauty Night Society and Fraser Riverkeeper as our feature charities this season.
A portion of our proceeds will be contributed to Beauty Night, a non-profit organization that helps women and youth living in poverty build self-esteem through three streams of programming: wellness, life skills development and makeovers. Beauty Night recognizes that, regardless of socio-economic status, no one deserves to be invisible or isolated from community.
The team at Vancouver Fashion Week is also excited to be collaborating with Fraser Riverkeeper (FRK), our local chapter of the International Waterkeeper Alliance. FRK helps citizens protect and restore their beloved rivers, lakes and beaches — ensuring that our local waters are “swimmable, drinkable and fishable” now and forever. Vancouver Fashion Week welcomes international visitors twice a year to our beautiful city and believes that supporting FRK will help keep our city beautiful for many seasons to come.
The Fall/Winter 2013 season kicks off Tuesday, March 19th, with an opening gala event at the Hotel Four Seasons Vancouver. Designer collections will storm the runway at the Chinese Cultural Centre, March 20th-24th. Please see www.vanfashionweek.com for a complete show schedule.
