VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Fashion Week kicks off Tuesday, March 19th with an Opening Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver. Collections take to the runway March 20th-24th at the Chinese Cultural Centre. Showcasing fifty designers in five days, Vancouver Fashion Week is anticipating its biggest season to date.
Highly anticipated designers include Turkey’s Ipek Tohumcu and India’s Jaya Misra. Ipek Tohumcu’s fluid and feminine designs illustrate both her mastery at draping and her infatuation for colour. Her new collection will be presented Saturday, March 23rd at 6:00 p.m. The following evening, Jaya Misra will close Vancouver Fashion Week as the finale designer at 7:30 p.m. Winner of India’s Lions Gold Award for Best National Designer in 2012, Jaya Misra is renowned for contemporizing traditional Indian patterns to create innovative and modern women’s wear.
The Fall/Winter 2013 collections are presented by Global Television>BC1, Miisha Canada, Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver, ABSOLUT ELYX, The Province and Boboli boutique. Vancouver Fashion Week also welcomes online retailer yeswalker.com as its newest partner.
