For the new year, I want to really try and evaluate what kind of items I am bringing home from clothing stores. I feel that I don’t have enough essential pieces in my wardrobe and I think it is something everyone should be cognisant about. I think now is the perfect time to rearrange your closet and say goodbye to the items that just aren’t doing it for you anymore. After seeing this wonderful look book on ShopBop of key pieces for your closet, I decided to create my own version.
I think every wardrobe has to have a great coat. It is something that truly transforms your look, and is used almost everyday. I really need to invest in a warm, versatile yet stylish coat for the winter. The length of the one below is perfect, and black goes with everything.
A statement necklace is always in, and black ankle booties and bag can be transformed from office wear to night out in two minutes flat. Dark denim jeans are still my go-to for this year, and a striped top for a casual look would be perfect for the weekend. A black pencil skirt (length can depend,) really does do a lot for a look because you can pair a versatile white blouse like the one below or pair it with a tee for a more casual daytime ensemble.
