It’s transition time already….the leaves are changing colour, the school zones are returning and the stores are stocking up their sweaters. I think one of the greatest staples a person (meaning both man and woman) can have are a great selection of plaids. This trend has come and gone over the past decade, but as of late it’s all we’re seeing on the runway. From countless designers to fast-fashion stores bringing this trend into full focus, why not embrace it. There’s nothing like saying fall is here but with a burgundy wide-rimmed hat, red plaid number and a pair of sexy staples none other than a basic white tee from Old Navy and the ever popular ‘skort’ from TopShop.
I can’t get enough of plain tees and white is always going to be a go-to, whether paired with boyfriend jeans, skinnies or a short black skirt, this shirt is one for the ages. Literally, you know how long plain white tees have been in effect for? Very long and they aren’t going to be escaping anytime soon.
So, to transition your fave summer staples into fall, add layers, take the casual skirt and shirt combo and mix it up with a cotton plaid number, chunky or light knit sweater (depending on your whereabouts) and when the time is right, a pair of booties and tights. I can’t wait to start wearing fall ensembles to my internship, I am excited to pair my summer skirts with tights, knits and scarves. Lots of scarves. To change up your makeup routine, opt for a darker shade of lipstick, smudge on the black eyeliner and load on the mascara. Fall is back and its here to embrace the change of the seasons.
