To say Karl’s latest Chanel collection wasn’t a reflection of the current times would be a mockery of his genius. He is, to say the least, with it. This season reflected upon the tech age with the show staged into a data centre of sort, with a runway transfixed with servers blinking in lights and carefully thought out colourful cables and wires. The looks were robotic, literally, with full-face helmets, gloves and boots decked out in Chanel’s ubituqious tweed skirt suit in dreamy ivory and black.
This was a true reflection of the digital era with lacy slip-like dresses, hats carefully tilted to the sides and big, bold baubles. Think bright and hip with an err to the ’80s boasting loud prints and colors, yet classic but chic, just as you would expect from Chanel.
