The Victorian blouse is back. Derived from the 1800s, this trend is much more than it seems. Victorian blouses were not meant to be utilitarian, but I’m here to break the mold on that today. Continue reading for my tips on how to pull off the Victorian blouse in the 21st century.
Because this blouse is a bit frilly on the top (there’s no better way of describing that, really) I wanted to streamline it with skinny jeans. These jeans are from NYDJ, this is a brand that pioneered slimming jeans and are well known for their inclusive line or premium denim. What I love about these particular jeans is the fit, they’re high waisted (which I love so much right now) but fit like a glove. It’s no wonder this company is one of the top-selling premium jean suppliers in North America.
After you’ve found a great pair of jeans (or you could even pair this with a pair of dress pants for work), add some accessories. For my accessories, I wanted to stick with classic pieces to bring the classic trend to the forefront. With this, I paired my favourite sunglasses which are a bit cat-eye shaped and my go-to Ralph Lauren crossbody bag with classic black pumps.
