The Go To Closet Staples You Need this Winter

There are typically a few go-to closet staples I stick to throughout the seasons, updated of course based on weather. Today I wanted to share with you a few of my favourite pieces right now, so continue reading for the scoop.

Layers are essential this time of year, and I love blanket scarves because not only are they super versatile because you wear them a variety of ways, but they are obviously extremely warm. I also love that they do double duty because you can wear them on the plane and it’s basically like you have a blanket with you.

A good pair of jeans to get through the season is exactly what should be on your shopping list. If you already own your favourite killer pair, then that’s amazing. I’m truly obsessed with this high waisted skinny pair of denim from Dynamite, I’m sure you’ve seen them on the blog quite a few times lately. They look great with boots and even flats because they’re not too long, I always have quite the challenge finding a good pair of jeans for my height.

I love wearing a blazer because I find it really elevates your classic tee and jeans look. I like this one because it’s quite long and it’s got leather details which give it a dressed up almost edgy vibe.

A classic pair of sunglasses is always an essential for me. Even if its winter and snowing out, you should still have sunglasses on you because the snow can be quite bright and you want to protect your eyes all year round.

I’m a sucker for a simple camisole, and this cream one is perfect for so many different outfits. It’s quite short which is nice because I’ve tucked it into skirts before and it looks so chic.

The boots of the season, the sock boot. I would say investing in a good pair of booties is a must. It doesn’t have to be the sock boots, but just find a good pair. I love this pair because they look great underneath (or over top) jeans and look killer with dresses too.

Grab your favourite bag in a neutral for optimal outfit pairings. I’ve worn my Gucci a ton which is great because it’s definitely gotten its money’s worth. I love a neutral bag because it really brings your entire outfit together. The size of my Gucci Marmont is perfect for me. I’m the type of gal who carries quite a lot throughout the day so this was my go-to.

Style your look with a classic rose gold choker. This one is from Amy O and I love how dainty it is. I’m a sucker for delicate pieces and this choker is the perfect style for me. You can wear it layered or on its own like I did. And it will be sure to shine wherever you go.

And there you have it, my go-to closet staples for the winter. Depending on where you live, you can tailor this to your weather. But I’m probably going to add a heavy coat to this because Vancouver has been quite chilly lately.
