With winter coming to a welcome end, it’s time to bring out your stylish staples from spring’s past. For me, this entails basics. To spice up a pretty basic look, I’m taking one of the trendiest pieces of the year (read: plaid blazer) and working it into the basics I already own. Continue reading for how to copy this easy and effortless look.
The plaid blazer is a trend that is not going away anytime soon. Pick up a plaid blazer that fits you well, if it’s fitted, you will want to style it with many looks come spring. I owned a pretty large one before and find myself not wearing it anymore at all. This one will be perfect with skirts too come warmer weather.
Jeans that you will live in all spring are a must. These are my go-to mom jeans from American Eagle which I can’t get enough of. I love that with time they’ve gotten a bit looser but still are fitted enough to give you a streamlined and sleek appearance.
Logo tees are also all the rage right now. I picked up this Calvin Klein one from Winners and am loving how soft and versatile it is. Pair yours with some jeans like I did or a skirt come spring. Adding a blazer to a logo tee makes the tee look more pulled together and even office appropriate.
Black sandals are everything for spring looks. It’s so nice to change it up and put away the booties. This pair is great because of the chunkier heel, comfy and chic.
Bags are the real deal which makes or break your outfit. I love this smaller bag for stashing every day (minimal) essentials and the design is so cute. For my real on the go look, I’ve always got another bag on me. Lately, I’ve been loving using this beautiful black suede backpack from the Vancouver line called TAIKAN. It’s super roomy and I’m definitely using it when I travel next.
Glasses are the easiest accessory to amp up your look and I’m obsessed with this pair from Clearly. The lighter tortoiseshell print is perfect for spring and I love the thin rims around the edges too.
