Easy and Basic Summer Outfit Staples + Giveaway

I have been decluttering my closet for the past few weeks (it’s too much to tackle in one day) and have been thinking a lot about basic staples in your wardrobe. Even though I have so many clothes, I always find myself reaching for the same pieces (who else?). If you’re finding yourself struggling to pick up new pieces or breathing new life into your older things, then check this post out for all the summer staples you need. White Tee

You need a white tee in your wardrobe, even not when it’s summer. They’re so versatile, I love this particular one I’m wearing because of the scalloped sleeve details. You can also substitute a tee for a white blouse.

Denim Skirt

Denim skirts will always be in. I got this asymmetrical one last year and recently brought it out again. I love the fit and it’s not too short. If you want something longer, midi skirts are having a moment right now.

Blazer

I always have a blazer with me, even when it’s super hot during the day because it’s the perfect piece to wear when it’s chilly at night. I just bought a pink & white striped one for the summer and I’m planning on picking up a white blazer too. It’s great to switch up your blazers for the summer, but if you have a classic fitted piece in a neutral, don’t feel you have to buy something new every season.

High-waisted Jeans

I’ve been a huge fan of high-waisted jeans, in fact, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to low-rise. Speaking of, since cleaning out my closet, I’ve found so many old pairs of jeans that just don’t cut it anymore. Because I’m on the shorter side, low-rise jeans just aren’t flattering. If you have a trendier piece from your wardrobe that you know you won’t wear anymore regardless of the seasons, I say donate it or sell it if you can. It’s much better going to another home that would use it more than you.

Nude Heels

Nude heels are my go-to all year round. I tackled my shoe closet the other day and was astounded at how many pairs of shoes I had that I’ve never really worn. It felt so good to get rid of those old shoes, I love investing in quality footwear because they last so much longer and you get more wear out of them. Best of both worlds. I always opt for nude heels because they make me look taller.

Dainty Jewelry

You can’t go wrong with picking up some new pieces of jewelry to enhance your look. I love these dainty but edgy earrings and this evil eye ring is too fun. Both of these pieces are from Happiness Boutique—they have the cutest jewelry!
