Why You Need to Experience Vallea Lumina in Whistler

The best thing about summer is that there is so much time to explore and have fun in British Columbia.

Need an idea? A new, interactive experience just arrived in Whistler. I’m talking about the Vallea Lumina night walk experience brought to you by Montreal-based entertainment studio Moment Factory and Whistler’s very own The Adventure Group.

I knew I would be in for a treat when I took a peek at the video on their website. Also, I went white water rafting with The Adventure Group before and had a blast.

Vallea Lumina is located at Cougar Mountain, which is eight minutes north of Whistler village. The backdrop boasts views of a lush rainforest, valleys and mountaintops.

So, what is Vallea Lumina?

Vallea Lumina transports you to another world, using a combination of emotive lights, videos, soundscapes and scenography. It’s a way to be one with nature and an opportunity to explore and engage with the beautiful environment. I don’t want to give too much away, but at one point there’s a bridge you walk across. Once you look down upon a cascading river flowing with rapids, you truly understand the beauty of the wilderness. There’s something so magical and raw about nature. And Vallea Lumina made sure it played a huge part in the night walk.

Vallea Lumina runs until October, 15th 2018. It begins at sundown and takes place every 20 minutes. The night walk takes approximately 60 minutes to complete. There is a complimentary shuttle service to transport visitors between Whistler Village and Cougar Mountain.

The experience speaks to audiences of all ages and interests.

I can’t tell you not to take your phone without being a hypocrite here. (Let’s be honest, I took tons of videos on my Instagram stories if you saw). But if you can, put the phone away for a bit and relish in the beauty because this night walk will make you feel like a kid again and inspire you.
