New Year’s Eve is officially on its way and that means its time to bring out your most sparkly and shimmery makeup looks. Continue reading for my easy but glamorous NYE beauty tutorial.
I’m all for products that pack a punch but without the high price tag attached because Christmas credit card statements are no joke, am I right? That’s why I was thrilled that I pulled an entire beauty look off with products from the drugstore, in particular, my go-to, London Drugs. Also, if you missed it, I broke down my drugstore beauty faves here.
I wanted something a bit outside of my comfort zone but still in the neutral family, because baby steps, right?
Skincare
I always say that you can’t do a full face of makeup without a prepped blank canvas and that’s where my trusty skincare comes in. I take my Bioderma Sebium H20 Cleansing Wipes and make sure my face is free of any makeup residue and completely clean. Then I do my typical regimen of cleansing, toning, exfoliating, using my trusty Vichy Mineral 89 Hyaluronic Acid, serums and moisturizers.
Before the makeup, I like to apply the St. Tropez Everyday Moisture Miracle Body Lotion for a bit of a glow. The winter is super dark and rainy here, so that means my tan is a no-go. St. Tropez always makes me feel like I have just gone on a beach vacay (now it’s time to actually book one).
Makeup
I wanted a full coverage look because since this look is for NYE, it’s important that it lasts all night. I use a full coverage foundation, concealer and powder to set the makeup. For my eyes, I used the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette. This palette is perfect for NYE because it’s got all the right colours. There are some neutral shades as well as some standout colours. I used the copper-like tones and the shimmery shades on top for some sparkle.
To make my eyes pop, I applied the KISS Lash Couture false eyelashes. I love how thick they are and they’re really soft. I then went over my bottom lashes with the Covergirl Exhibitionist mascara which I really like because it makes my shorter lashes look so much longer.
Once I was finished with my eyes, I moved onto the face. I love a good highlighter and tried out the NYX A Bit Jelly gel illuminator—it really sparkles and looks gorgeous for a glamorous night out.
For my lips, I used the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick which is the perfect neutral. You can even add some gloss on top for a bit of shine. I love this lippie because it’s matte so it lasts all night long (even with copious amounts of champagne).
Because a look wouldn’t be complete without some perfume, I spritzed the Lancome Idole perfume. It’s fresh but floral and the bourbon vanilla notes give me major winter vibes.
Want to pick up these products for yourself for the big night? I picked up them up at London Drugs, along with all of my other essentials for the evening.

Your lipstick is the perfect color for the shades you used on your eyes. I wish I was proficient with false lashes. I worked as a freelance makeup artist but that was one thing I never got the hang of.

I use make up occasionally, but this tutorial made me want to use make up more often. I love the colors you chose. I am a big fan of the “no-make up” make up look and your lipstick shade is right up my alley! Love that little black dress of yours too!
