The Lounge Set You Need for Spring and Summer

With spring here and summer well on its way, I’m all about neutral lounge sets. Plus, I’m all about lighter tones in my wardrobe. However, let’s be honest, that’s an all-year-round kind of thing. Continue reading for the cutest lounge set you need for spring and summer.

With the pandemic still ongoing and Canada not doing well with the COVID cases, summer dresses are just not that practical for day-to-day. Especially, as this year looks much different than previous years in terms of summer activities. That’s why I gravitate towards lounge sets because they’re comfy, cute, and cozy, a triple threat if you ask me. This lounge set is from Sundeaa and I love the colour. It’s the perfect neutral tone for transitioning into the warmer months ahead. Plus, I love the saying, “Stay at home. Play at home”. So cute and on-brand for the pandemic, hey?

Not only is the colour perfect for spring and summer, but this lounge set isn’t too thick. This means it’s quite wearable even in warmer weather. I love wearing a simple white tank underneath and wrapping the sweater around my shoulders or waist for that cool athleisure vibe. 

Speaking of athleisure, this set was the perfect set to wear playing some tennis. Luckily, the courts were clear and there weren’t many people around. Therefore, we could enjoy a safe game of hitting the ball back and forth while getting some fresh air and some exercise. 

How to style lounge sets:

There are many ways to style a lounge set. Some of my favourites include wearing some comfy high socks and my classic Adidas sneakers. This was the perfect way to style this set because the weather wasn’t too warm. Plus, it was the perfect outfit to wear while enjoying a game of tennis. However, when the weather turns warmer, I will be styling this set with a pair of sandals or slides and embracing the sunny days ahead.

This look could even be worn to the beach with a bathing suit underneath. I love being comfy at the beach, especially if you stay there all day and night. When the nights get cool, it’s the perfect time to cozy up in your sweatsuits. However, if you want to stick with sneakers, you could skip styling this lounge set with high socks and pull out some ankle socks. Pair this look with a pair of white sneakers and it’s the ultimate comfy but chic #ootd. 

You could also style this set separately which makes it so versatile. I’m actually on the hunt for a green pair of sweat shorts to match with my sweater from Sundeaa. I think the contrast in cream and green from the writing on the sweater will look gorgeous together.

No longer are we living in the days where you cant get away with loungewear at work. However, it’s all about going about it the right way. In my opinion, loungewear can be worn in the workplace, if you do it right. Because many meetings these days are virtual, and you’re likely only seeing your colleagues top half, you can definitely get away with loungewear. Personally, I love to wear my lounge bottoms and a nice blouse with or without a blazer on top. They will never know, which is great. You can look chic but still be comfortable, which is a winning combination.

Lounge sets aren’t the only spring trend I’m coveting this season. I’m loving strappy sandals (both high and low), shoulder bags, pastels, high-waisted baggy jeans, matching sets such as matching tank tops and cardigans and half-zip sweaters to name a few.

I have been decluttering my closet for the past few weeks (it’s too much to tackle in one day). This has made me think a lot more about basic staples in your wardrobe. Even though I have many clothes, I always find myself reaching for the same pieces (who else?). In my opinion, loungewear will always be a staple in a wardrobe. The best part? It’s fun to update your lounge sets with new colours to suit the changing seasons.

Of course, loungewear is the ultimate spring and summer trend for me. I love how comfy, chic (especially when the top and bottoms are matching) and of course, cute they are.
