Eating healthy and staying fit are some of my goals for the new year. Now that we are a few days into 2022 (crazy, I know), I am planning to focus on my health in a big way this year, especially because of the ongoing pandemic. Continue reading for tips on how to focus on your health this year.
Eating healthy
I have been trying to eat healthier lately and this includes decreasing my sugar intake and watching what I eat. While I enjoy treating myself and the holiday season is no exception, I like to maintain a moderately balanced diet. With that said, this includes but is not limited to whole grains, fruit, vegetables, legumes, and nuts. I have recently been checking out this ingredient conversion tool from Culinary Schools. What’s great about this tool is that you can enter in any value that you want to convert and then select what unit you want to convert to. It’s tools like this that can help you stay accountable to your goals and resolutions.
Relaxing
With the holidays sadly over, it’s time to get back in the swing of things. Now that last-minute Christmas shopping and event/party hopping are over, I have more time to relax, focus on reducing stress, and decompress after a long day. Another goal that I want to focus on this year is to actively force myself to relax. This means spending less time in front of my inbox and more time focused on reading books and playing games. One game that I had quite some fun with was Candy Fiesta on the Culinary Schools website. It’s easy to play (and figure out) and a great way to take your mind off everyday stress.
There are tons of different games with various genres on the Culinary Schools website. This is great to help familiarize children with food, farming, cooking, and the culinary arts. But don’t worry, these games aren’t only for kids, they’re just as fun for adults too.
Exercising
Something else that I want to focus on for this year is to step up my exercising. To be honest, I didn’t feel super motivated to work out or exercise much in the past few months. However, I am determined to make a change for the better this year. I think it’s important to be active every day, whether that’s working out on a treadmill for a bit or walking your dog, it’s still moving your body.
Another great tool that I found on the Culinary Schools website is the Workout Calculator. What’s great about this calculator is you can use it to estimate your total caloric burn rate for a combination of up to 20 different exercises. It’s all about developing an exercise routine. Plus, I love that this tool even includes some helpful information on how to develop an exercise routine that works for you. This is great if you’re like me and don’t have a strenuous workout routine but still want to be active and move your body.
