I’m all about mixing it up, especially with playing with different patterns. The other day I realized I had nothing to wear, (happens to the best of us, right?) and I thought to myself, c’mon, I have tons of clothes, surely I can pick out something. And what I did was decided to do something I don’t often do, mix prints and pair with a pop of colour. The pop of colour is my hat (this one is from Rag and Bone and only $68!) and I love the way it brings out my plaid shirt because the shirt happens to have the same orange colour as the hat. I also love the leather jacket because it makes the look a bit more edgy, not so preppy, ya know? I am loving this one from Nasty Gal – omg!I think with fashion you really have to take risks, and this is how I took mine, I know I have tons of clothes, so I don’t need to necessarily buy more, I just have to be smarter with what I wear. My tip for mixing prints is you should grab two different garments with the same colour family in it, so if you have a blue paid shirt you could pair with a blue striped shirt, and so on. The nice thing about such a classic striped shirt is it can pair well with almost anything. I think people tend to get into fashion ruts from time to time and it’s completely normal to experience it, but my thought process is if you don’t try it you never know if you like it. And to be honest, after picking out these pieces in my wardrobe this week, I was more daring for the rest of the week. Do you get into fashion ruts? What are your tips for getting out of them? Let me know in the comments below.
