I was extremely lucky to spend an amazing weekend at the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa this past weekend for a girl’s staycation with my sister – it was wonderful! I had never been to the Wedgewood before but had always heard such great things, and was very excited to experience it for myself. The astounding amount of detail put into the hotel is incredible. From the luxurious wood paneling to the gilded golden furniture to the doorman standing outside in front of the European-like awnings. The Wedgewood is a luxury escape to Europe in the heart of the West Coast in Vancouver.
The Wedgewood is one of the only hotels in Vancouver with private balconies offering views of the city, what a treat! It was also voted the #1 Top City Hotel in Canada by readers of Travel & Leisure. It’s in the prime location, within walking distance of so many wonderful stores such as Laduree, Nordstrom, the famous Robson Street Area, TWG Tea, Hermes, and Chanel. It’s a true destination luxury hotel for visitors and shoppers alike. Coming down from the states and don’t know where to go? Wedgewood should be your top choice, it’s the perfect place to get your dose of Vancouver.
Wedgewood is also an amazing place to visit even if you’re not staying in the hotel. This is because of their restaurant Bacchus which is fine Epicurean dining. The food is delicious, the service is incredible and the decor is extremely impressive. Think rich upholstered furniture, warm wood, and light fixtures specially imported from Venice. It’s like being transported to Europe for the day, who knew Vancouver, such a West Coast chill city would have an experience like that right in our own backyard?
The Spa at the Wedgewood is also something to boast about. I relaxed (more like indulged) at Wedgewood’s amazing spa for one of the best facials I’ve ever had. Really, the facial wasn’t just any service, it was a true experience. The spa was extremely relaxing and it offers a variety of exclusive treatments. It’s a true escape with an intimate oasis-like feel. There’s even a eucalyptus steam room and a tranquil Relaxation Room with a beautiful garden terrace. What was lovely about the Spa was that I wasn’t just relaxed. I was also being educated at the same time because the esthetician told me how to improve my skincare routine. She gave me resourceful tips and I walked out feeling truly relaxed, something I haven’t felt in quite awhile. The Spa offers massages, body scrubs, wraps, an assortment of facials and even manicures and pedicures among many other services.
The suite was luxurious boasting marble bathrooms with soaker tubs. There was even a separate limestone walk-in shower and crown molding. To top it all off, there were L’Occitane bath amenities which I love. L’Occitane is one of my favourites because they’re not overly scented and they’re very soft on your skin. There was also a dry bar area with a minibar for pre-shopping cocktails which we most definitely took advantage of. The private balcony was a wonderful treat because it provided the best view of the city. I felt so blessed to enjoy a hot cup of in-room Nespresso coffee while looking out on the city below.
If you want a truly luxurious escape from the city complete with valet service and the most professional and genuine staff, even if just for a night, I would highly recommend checking into the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa.
Can’t wait to be back!
Thank you so much to the amazing team at Wedgewood Hotel & Spa for having me.
