I’m so excited to share with you all my newest series on the blog called Thursday Thoughts. This series is going to be featuring 3 of my favourite articles that I’ve read from the week. I know we’re all inundated with so much information in our lives (and inboxes), so I wanted to make it a bit easier for you to read the latest news out there by sharing just 3 of my fave pieces. The length will differ with each article and so will the topic and that’s what I think is so special about this series. Even though my schedule is always crazy I always make time to read articles throughout the week, I find when I’m going through my day-to-day tasks I remember snippets of what I’ve read and most of the time it helps me, whether it’s philosophical or psychological, these articles really make me feel like I’ve learned something new.
Every week I will share the title of the articles, a summary on why I liked it and why I think you should read it and of course, the link to the articles too.
I hope you like this new series, it’s something that I hope you will find resourceful.
3 Articles You Have to Read this Week:
This article stood out to me because it helped reinforce that happiness shouldn’t be a task on your to-do list, it should be something that comes natural, you shouldn’t have to force it. I think we’re all so busy trying to get through the week that we don’t even take the time to think if we’re happy or not. I think by doing simple things like taking the time out of your day to list to people’s problems or giving them advice, it makes a difference. I’ve always believed being nice would get you way farther in life. It’s not all about focusing on trying to be happy, but striving for meaning and living a passionate life. Personally, I’ve always believed if you could achieve happiness, you would be successful. I don’t think it’s all about the money, I think if you focus on doing what you love, the money will come. This article was a great reminder of that and I would definitely take the time to read it.2. The 5 Jobs Robots Will Take First, LinkedIn, by Shelly Palmer
This is a great read because it’s important to be aware of the changes coming our way in the next few years. I won’t spoil the jobs this article mentions, but I will tell you that this article describes the fact that you can’t do anything about these inevitable changes to come, all you can do is adapt. This is a true concept for all things in life, adaptation is the way to embrace the future ahead.3. Hey Boss: Your Chaos is Making Me Anxious, LinkedIn, Brian de Haaff
This article was very insightful because it goes to show how having a boss who doesn’t have a plan can be a huge strain on your business and of course, yourself. It’s vital within an organization to provide positive reinforcement, it can do wonders for your team. Offer a helping hand, try to let your employees know that you’re there for them and want to help them succeed. If you feel you’re being unfairly treated in the workplace, do something about it.
I hope you enjoyed this series, I’ll be back next week! Let me know if you want me to feature any particular articles or if you have any feedback.
