I’ve been getting into the collagen craze lately, and I’m quite happy about it. So much so, that I’ve been enjoying collagen smoothie bowls almost every day. I know what you’re thinking, the term collagen smoothie doesn’t sound the most appealing but trust me, it’s delicious.
I haven’t always been super diligent about supplements but collagen is one I can get on board with. So, if you’ve heard of collagen but aren’t super familiar about what it does, let me give you a brief intro. Collagen is great for your skin, hair, nails, joints and it helps promote a healthy immune system.
I’ve been using the Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides which I’ve been loving thus far, especially because it’s tasteless (full disclosure: I hate protein shakes because I can’t stand the taste of protein).
I’m also quite thrilled that Vital Proteins offers products in various flavours. For instance, I tried the Collagen Beauty Water that I’m really excited about because of all of the flavours offered. There’s Lavender Lemon, Vanilla & Coconut Water and even a Melon Mint flavour. I’m always trying to up my water intake, so anything that can make it taste better is always welcome.
Check out my recipe below for my go-to collagen smoothie bowl and some more of my favourite recipes here.
INGREDIENTS:
1 serving Vital Proteins
1 cup almond milk
2 tbs almond butter
1 cup of frozen berries
1 tbs honey
1 cup greek yogourt
1 banana, chia, pumpkin & hemp seeds, almonds, frozen berries (for garnish)
METHOD:
Combine all ingredients (except for garnishes) into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour your smoothie into a bowl and add the garnishes. Enjoy!

I’m still getting used to thit idea of ingesting collagen. I always think of it as being injected into your skin. But I’d much rather drink it! I see that it also promotes joint health. Thanks for introducing me to Vital Proteins!

That looks delicious! It’s about the 5th time this week I’ve read about collagen in food and until this week I had never heard about it being consumed like that. I will definitely be giving it a try. – Stephanie | http://www.theborrowedbabes.com
