How ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses Changed My Life

I’ve been wearing contact lenses and glasses for a number of years now. I remember when I was first told I needed glasses, it was devastating, to say the least. I had always had impeccable vision and I just didn’t want to wear glasses, it didn’t feel like me. Fast forward a few months later, and I got my first set of contact lenses. Total game changer.

Because I was in high school at the time, I just didn’t want to have to wear glasses every single day. But because my vision was so bad, I couldn’t see the board in my classroom, and I knew it would not be possible for me not to wear my glasses. Being in high school, I didn’t feel confident to sport my glasses and wearing contacts made me feel like I was just like everyone else. Don’t get me wrong, glasses are great, but I’m not the kind of girl who wants to wear them every single day all day. What I was really hoping for with my transition to contacts was gaining confidence. When you’re in high school, you’re already subjected to so much scrutiny and the last thing I wanted was to have something so apparent that people would notice right away. Wearing contacts has been so liberating and has really made me feel more confident ever since.

I went to see Dr. Spencer Young for an eye exam and to get fitted for my contacts. My experience at his clinic was amazing. I’m not going to lie, I’ve never been a fan of going for eye exams but this experience totally changed my perspective.

I previously had been using a different brand of contact lenses all of my life, so I was excited to learn all about ACUVUE®, especially since my Dad’s been using them for years and has always been a fan.

Dr. Spencer Young noticed I had a different prescription on each eye, which was always a little annoying. I didn’t think I could do much about it, but he tested both eyes and came to the conclusion that this wasn’t needed. Now, my prescription is the same in both eyes, and I’m quite happy about it.

Next, Dr. Spencer Young fitted me with ACUVUE® VITA® Monthly Contact Lenses with HydraMax™ Technology. This technology helps to maximize and maintain hydration throughout the lens—providing lasting comfort throughout the month. The last brand of contacts I was using became dry about halfway through their cycle, this would cause me to have to take breaks throughout the month. As you can imagine, this was very inconvenient and frustrating. Since wearing ACUVUE® VITA® Monthly Contact Lenses, my eyes feel much more hydrated and comfortable. I can go longer with wearing them throughout the month. No more having to worry about your contact lenses becoming dry halfway through their cycle. These lenses also have the highest level of UV protection± in a monthly lens which is pretty amazing.

Suffice it to say, this was the only eye exam appointment where I left feeling educated and confident. Not to mention, the ride home was very comfortable with my new lenses.

I feel so much better about my new contacts. And I know I have the right pair for me and my everyday needs. What I love about ACUVUE® is how many different types of contact lenses they offer, this is great because there are so many various needs out there for people and their eyes.

An eye care professional will determine whether contact lenses are right for you. Although rare, serious eye problems can develop while wearing contact lenses. To help avoid these problems, follow the wear and replacement schedule and the lens care instructions provided by your eye doctor. Do not wear contact lenses if you have an eye infection, or experience eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes, redness or other eye problems.
