I recently had a facial at the newest Skinceuticals by Project Skin location at Richmond Centre and wanted to share my experience with you all. I was treated to a Medical Facial and what’s great about these, in particular, is they are customized to fit your skin’s needs and concerns. Before going into my facial, my esthetician asked me what my main skin concerns are, and I told her how my acne had started flaring up quite a bit. Isn’t it ironic how your skin seems to be worse right before your facials?
About the facial
I also got a mild chemical peel. This was great for getting rid of my dead skin (sounds gross, but it’s so cool). I was treated to a variety of masques and exfoliants which felt very rejuvenating on my skin as well.
Afterwards, I got to try the raved about MAX+ LED Light Therapy treatment. This helps to rebalance, calm, brighten and care for any skin types. I really enjoyed this procedure. It was very relaxing and right away I noticed a difference in how glowy my skin appeared. After all, this was done in Project Skin’s Glow Room. I highly recommend this treatment. It’s very sought after with the stars and is the latest wellness trend I’m all about. I find it really helps turn your brain off. It’s nice to be in the moment because obviously, you can’t go anywhere. For more information on this treatment, check this out here.
How to maintain your after facial glow
As you already know, I’m a pretty big fan of Skinceuticals products as I have mentioned them on my blog in this post here and here. Even so, I wanted to make sure you knew that it’s easy to maintain that beautiful glow after your facials. It’s all about having the right products. Continue reading for some of my favourites.
I’ve been using Skinceuticals Simply Clean cleanser which has been great for my sensitive skin as it soothes and lathers up quite nicely for a soft cleanse.
Next, I’ve been using the Retexturing Activator which helps to resurface as it’s a replenishing serum that works to reinforce the skin’s barrier to the healthier skin. I use about 4-6 drops every night and what I like about it is it’s oil-free and gentle.
I always make sure to use sunscreen every day even in the winter, so this Physical Matte SPF 50 product has really come in handy. What I like about this is it’s very lightweight and wears very nice under my makeup.
I also always make sure to use a serum every day and this Serum 10 is amazing. I love that it offers environmental protection and works for all skin types. Once again, it works great for those with sensitive skin.
There are so many other Skinceuticals products that I really love. So, feel free to check out those other blog posts I linked to.
Also, a few more tips & tricks to maintain your inner glow, grab a good book (currently loving The Vanity Fair Diaries by Tina Brown from Chapters Indigo) and a glass of water.
