As you might know, I’ve gotten my fair share of facials in the past year. But this was my first time getting a Dermasweep facial. I had this done at the new clinic called Skin Technique by Dr. Pavlou. More on that below. Have you ever heard of a Dermasweep facial? If not, continue reading to find out more about my experience.
What is it?
First, a Dermasweep facial is done using patent-pending bristle tips that lift away the top layer of skin and increase microcirculation to enhance lymphatic drainage, oxygenation, and the delivery of key skin nutrients. Basically, it gives you the softest skin of your life. If I were to describe what it feels like, it’s almost like a tiny vacuum is on your skin, but it doesn’t hurt one bit. Because the bristles are so soft, the treatment has no abrasive feeling. There’s also a cool wand feeling as the wand glides and is used as a suction over the skin.
Does it hurt?
What I really like about this procedure is it’s non-invasive and pain-free. EpiFusions target specific concerns such as skin brightening, dehydration and more. You can choose between ingredients such as Growth Factors, Peptides, Vitamin C, TCA, and Hyaluronic Acid. I went with Vitamin C as I needed some brightening after the cold, long winter we’ve been having.
As I said, I received said facial at Vancouver’s newest skincare clinic, Skin Technique, by Dr. Pavlou. Dr. Pavlou is known for his innovations in aesthetic medicine with tried and tested reliable methods to achieve a natural rejuvenated appearance.
The clinic
Not only was the procedure incredible, but the clinic itself is a true beauty. Think marble, gold, exposed white brick and, of course, the kindest staff to greet you. The staff was knowledgeable, accommodating and willing to answer any and all questions I had about the treatment and the clinic. I was also given a delicious matcha tea on a gold tray to relax before my facial.
How long does the facial take?
My Dermasweep facial was quick (we’re talking 30 minutes max), which is great for the girl on the go. The treatment is similar to microdermabrasion, but I would say it is a bit gentler as microdermabrasion uses tiny bits of crystal or diamonds to scrub away the skin’s dead cells, whereas Dermasweep uses bristles instead.
Because of this, those with sensitive skin or those with rosacea should opt for Dermasweep as they can choose a gentler bristle. As I said, first, the aesthetician used the bristles to remove dead skin cells, then used infusion therapy to feed vitamin-rich serums into the skin.
I know you may not believe me when I tell you that I experienced immediate results after getting a Dermasweep facial, but I did. My skin instantly felt so much softer, looked brighter and was visibly plumper and calm. (Some redness occurred as I have sensitive skin, but it went down the next day) It’s not just me; it’s been proven that with Dermasweep, you receive immediate results with one treatment.
My conclusion? I will definitely be back for another Dermasweep facial. I love that you experience immediate results right away (perfect if you have a trip or important event/meeting). And, of course, I love that it’s pain-free and quick. If you’re in Vancouver, I recommend trying out Skin Technique by Dr. Pavlou for the Dermasweep, as the Dermasweep facials are unique to Skin Technique in Yaletown. However, Dr. Pavlou offers tons of different treatments from which to choose.
Feel free to message me with any questions about my experience.
