I’m a huge bookworm and I thought it might be fun to share some new reads I’m loving with you lately. Obviously, there’s no shortage of good books available, but where to start? Continue reading for the best books to get your hands on this spring.
The Measure Of My Powers: A Memoir of Food, Misery, and Paris, Jackie Kai Ellis
I’m so excited to read this one! It’s by the author who has the most delicious french bakery here in Vancouver aptly named Beaucoup Bakery. This book is a memoir of food, misery and Paris. It’s about the story of one woman’s journey to find herself.
The Great Alone, Kristin Hannah
By the author that brought us the #1 New York Times Bestseller, The Nightingale (one of my favourite books of all time). This story is a daring, beautiful, stay-up-all-night story about love and loss, the fight for survival, and the wildness that lives in both man and nature. I’m thinking it’s going to be another can’t put it down novel. Get ready.
One of my all-time favourite authors. Sophie Kinsella’s latest novel, Surprise Me is witty and emotionally charged, it delves into the heart of marriage and how those we know and love the most can surprise us the most. Very excited for this one, Sophie Kinsella always kills it. I don’t think I’ll be very surprised that I’ll enjoy this read.
Vegan Comfort Classics, Lauren Toyota – Hot for Food
Lately, I’ve taken a liking to cooking more, so I think this will come in handy for the spring season. Written by Youtube sensation Lauren Toyota of Hot for Food. This cookbook takes all your favourite comfort food and turns it vegan. Can’t wait to try these recipes out. I’m especially excited to give the ‘Filet-O-Tempeh Sandwich’ and ‘Buffalo Cauliflower Sandwich’ a go! I’ll let you know how they turn out 😉
How Me Found I, Abigail Diaz Juan
I’m a huge fan of motivating books and this one is no exception. In How Me Found I, it’s all about showing you how to attain balance, harmony and greatness in your world. It’s all about turning those moments of negativity into opportunity (all about this) for spiritual development, personal empowerment and ultimate fulfillment in life.
Have you read any of these novels? What’s on your spring reading list?
